Foldable PC from Lenovo, ThinkPad X1 Fold.
Lenovo’s new folding PC is now available to buy. Lenovo had unveiled the foldable personal computer ThinkPad X1 Fold with Windows 10 during CES 2020 (6th Jan 2020). We have seen other folding devices like the folding phones from Samsung and Motorola. Samsung’s Galaxy fold and Motorola Razr (flip) are the more popular folding devices, which are mostly android based phones. Microsoft also announced the Duo device, another folding device but with 2 screens and a hinge in between.
Samsung and Motorola’s devices are foldable OLED screen with a crease in between the two screens where it folds. The newer versions I believe will have less of the creases. Other form of design concept was unveiled by Oppo where the rollable OLED screen expands the phone. Check the details here.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 is a first fully functional PC with folding OLED. It has a 13’ 2k OLED display and Intel Core processors based on Intel’s Hybrid Technology.

As per Lenovo, 5G connectivity will be offered from 2021. It also comes with WIFI 6 for connecting to the internet. For seamless typing, Lenovo provides optional Bluetooth keyboard that can be connected to Lenovo Fold Mini Keyboard via Bluetooth. The keyboard magnetically attaches and charges wirelessly when device folds around it. We can connected to 2 external monitors via USB. It also comes with a Mod Pen to take notes or draw on the screen. The Bluetooth keyboard and Mod pen are optional accessories.
Lenovo claims the battery life would be 8.5 hrs with 10.4 hrs for video playback. It will also come with a 50 Wh Rapid Charge (fast charge). See below of additional specs.
