– Boeing Global Services online sales portal simplifies customer transactions with new tools

– Record online orders reflect a continued recovery from COVID-19 impacts

DALLAS, Feb. 14, 2022 – Last year, Boeing [NYSE: BA] set a new yearly record for e-commerce parts sales, with over $2 billion in online orders. Boeing Distribution Inc. (previously Aviall) sold approximately 70,000 parts goods to commercial and government clients through its e-commerce site, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, thanks to investments in digital capabilities. Commercial orders contributed $1.5 billion in sales, indicating that the airline industry is still recovering.

“Our $2 billion closeout to 2021 was a great capstone as the market heads to a more stable recovery,” said Ted Colbert, president, and chief executive officer, Boeing Global Services, at the Singapore Airshow today. “Our e-commerce capabilities are a great example of the digital solutions we provide to enable industry recovery and growth. Our focus as always is on bringing value through our products and services, and we will continue to partner with our customers as they navigate this dynamic environment.”

Last year, Boeing Distribution Inc.’s online sales were 15% greater than pre-pandemic levels, while orders were 20% higher. The company brought out new tools to improve the customer experience, including a new homepage, a live chat function, and an online knowledge center, which resulted in higher sales.

Last year, five million people from 50 countries visited the redesigned e-commerce parts website, which has over 500,000 products.
