SUPER73-C1X Concept is Shifting Boundary Between E-Bike and Motorbike.
Leading e-bike manufacturer explores a groundbreaking extension to its product range
SUPER73®, founded in California, has challenged the conventions of the burgeoning e-bike community and contributed to broadening the perception of personal mobility since its start. The company was founded as an American lifestyle adventure brand focusing off electric motorcycles by the founders who never wanted to limit their horizons. With this approach, the SUPER73 headquarters in Irvine, CA has developed a line of more complex electric motorcycles. Each successive model brings a step forward in terms of technology and rider satisfaction, and the biggest expansion plans to yet will be disclosed in 2022, ushering in a new chapter in the fast-paced SUPER73 tale.
SUPER73 is unveiling a new entry-level model, the SUPER73-Z Miami, a whole new kid’s bike, the SUPER73 Youth Model, and an updated SUPER73-R Brooklyn at the same time plus new colorways for its entire 2022 range.
SUPER73-C1X CONCEPT
Despite all of this exciting news, the SUPER73-C1X Concept is unquestionably the star. It was created with the intention of reshaping and redefining the boundaries between e-bike and motorcycle norms. The C1X is a street-legal idea that will serve as a “step-up” vehicle from the current SUPER73 lineup, boosting adventures by achieving motorcycle performance while being significantly smaller and lighter.
The C1X was created in response to comments from existing SUPER73 riders, many of whom expressed an interest in upgrading to a street-legal motorbike. The revolutionary C1X Concept is a big step ahead in the company’s development program, allowing its worldwide fan base to make a natural transition from the current SUPER73-RX flagship model.
The production version of the C1X, with a top speed of over 75 mph, will need a rider to have a motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license, as well as vehicle registration and full insurance. Its 31″ seat height and small footprint, on the other hand, make it lightweight and maneuverable, making it a great platform for riders looking to pass the DMV riding test.
The SUPER73 design team started their investigation by looking at the current crop of production motorcycles and determining what was keeping them out of reach for core SUPER73 customers. A reduction in the overall footprint of a conventional motorcycle was one of its top aims. This was accomplished by using 15″ wheels instead of the standard 17″ motorcycle wheels. The team also took a ground-breaking strategy to put the motor behind the pivot point of the swingarm. This unique layout allowed for a 51″ wheelbase and eliminated the chain slack concerns that plagued traditional motorcycles. Further enhancing the Concept’s agility is a mass-centralized chassis/battery configuration, the precise specification of which will remain under wraps until further testing is completed. Needless to say, SUPER73 is excited by the innovation that has spearheaded the entire program.
The SUPER73-C1X Concept, which was born in Southern California, looked at how it may be used by both metropolitan commuters and adventure seekers. To that purpose, it will deploy a fast-charging system that will allow for an 80 percent charge in less than an hour, giving it a city range of about 100 miles*. The Concept will also be capable of reaching speeds of more than 75 mph, bridging the gap between urban adventure and highway connectivity. C1X leaves parking to others thanks to its two wheels and compact footprint.
While the C1X design program began more than a year ago, the public will not be able to acquire the first manufacturing devices for some time. The C1X is now in development, and SUPER73 is now taking reservations for a late 2023 production date. Customers may reserve a spot in line for the breakthrough electric motorcycle for $73, which not only secures their spot in line but also allows them to submit input and remain up to current on development progress as the C1X gets closer to production.
