Worlds thinnest gaming laptop with GTX 1080 Asus Rog Zehpyrus:
Today at the Computex 2017 held at Taipei Taiwan , Asus Rog launched its new gaming laptop Zephyrus GX501 which is just 17.9 mm thick and 2.24 Kg and comes with the latest NVIDIA GeFore GTX 1080 graphics. This is Nvidia’s Max Q graphics which will enable laptops to be thinner with higher graphics handling capacity. It is probably worlds thinnest gaming laptop with GTX 1080 Asus Rog Zehpyrus.
It will enable hardcore gamers and photo/video professional to carry around this powerful machine. Gaming and graphics laptops with high-end specs are usually heavy and cumbersome to carry around. With the introduction of this new laptop with its thin profile, it will make it easier to handle.
It comes with a Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor which has a quad Kaby lake cores enough to do photo or video editing.
The difficult part is to stuff the high-end chips with cooling mechanism in small profile machines. As per Asus press release, it features an Active Aerodynamic System to help with the cooling and air
flow. Check Asus website for more details on AAS cooling system, which as per Asus can reduce the temperature of air flow by 10 degree Celsius.
The CPU and GPU each have a dedicated blower, radiator, and heatpipe. The GPU has another radiator all of its own. Both chips share two more pipes that distribute the cooling between them to improve overall efficiency. Another heatpipe handles the power circuitry that feeds both chips, keeping throttling at bay under strenuous loads.
The laptop comes with a 15.6′ G-Sync display with refresh rate up to 120 Hz. High refresh rates and G sync technology helps in showing clear visuals when playing games, especially when the objects are fast-moving and there is very less lag after the user’s input. Overall it helps in a better gaming experience
The IPS panel also supports sRGB color gamut, which will be helpful for content creators (photo $ video professionals).
It support up to 24GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB of storage. It has a USB Type-C™ (USB-C™) port with Thunderbolt™ 3port, HDMI 2.0 port (for 4k) and four type A USB 3.01 ports for additional connectivity to VR and other devices.
